Dateline: the South Pacific, August, 1942
Pearl Harbor. Midway. The Coral Sea. The first year of the war in the Pacific is drawing to a close. In the jungles of New Guinea, Japanese forces are poised to launch a major advance on Port Moresby. Meanwhile, sleepy Japanese bases on the little known islands of Gaudalcanal, Tulagi, and Gavutu are about to discover they are the focal point of the first Allied counterattack in the Pacific. Japanese victory in New Guinea could lead to the fall of Australia. Allied victory will save Australia, and open the way for Allied Forces to launch attacks on the Philippines and upon Japan herself. The fate of an empire hangs in balance as the air, ground, and naval forces of the Allied Nations prepare to meet the full strength of the Japanese South Pacific forces head-on, at a place called Rabaul.

About Target Rabaul
Target Rabaul is a community-created massively-multiplayer online combat flight sim. From the very start, the goal of this project has been to create a historically-accurate WWII Pacific Theatre flight sim. Target Rabaul is not a first person shooter, it is not a relaxed realism flight sim. Our first campaign covers the struggle for New Guinea and the Solomon Islands in 1942 and 1943. Once this first campaign is finished, we plan on moving on to cover other WWII Pacific campaigns, including Midway, Flying Tigers!, Philippines '44, and Task Force!
