Interior Designer – New York, NY, United States | Works

An interior designer at MA works under the direction of mid to senior level interior designers, assisting in the development of design solutions for review, research and select colors/finishes/materials/FF&E conducts site surveys and documentation, and maintains material resources. The Interior Designer applies established interior design standards to assist in the production of construction drawings, performs routine inspection and/or verification tasks, and develops trim charts and presentations.

Core Responsibilities

Project design and planning

  • Understand the MA “project roadmap” as well as the relevant project schedule and deadlines
  • Participate in the design and development of the project, from concept to documentation
  • Assist the team in preparing client design presentations (select concept images, generate 3D views, rendered elevations, materials and FF&E selections)
  • Develop an understanding of what should be included in a client presentation based on the meeting agenda
  • Developing the FF&E package and selections
  • Implement design direction based on management feedback

Project management

  • Maintain project directory
  • Ensure compliance with the structure of project files

Project documents

  • Support the production of design and construction document packages
  • Constantly review work for accuracy; update documentation from redlines
  • Assist with schedules for interior finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures and door hardware
  • Correspond with required vendors regarding specifications and pricing

Quality control

  • Comply with MA presentation standards and complete required checklists
  • Self-monitoring of own work
  • Archive project emails and maintain standard server file organization

building administration

Qualifications

Education:

Professional degree in architecture, interior architecture or interior design
Other Accreditations Encouraged (NCIDQ, AIA, LEED)

Live:

0+ years of experience

Skills:

Knowledge of 3D modeling using software such as Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD and SketchUp; Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); Escape.
